Schladming World Champs 2013

This week of racing was the most important of the season so far. World Championships are like the Olympics of Alpine Skiing. The event was hosted by the Austrians in Schladming, so you can imagine it was pretty crazy!! The stadium at the finish was huge and the crowd surrounding us was vibrant and loud!
The races went quite well for me considering all the ups and downs of the season so far. I was quite satisfied with an 8th place in GS. It isn't a medal and so didn't mean much at World Championships but to me it is still a huge step forward towards my career goals!
As for the SL, I had a pretty good first run with an 8th place, unfortunately I still am missing that confidence and aggression to just attack and not fear anything after this season's tough time... I moved back to 13th, but still I'm happy because my skiing is coming back in the right direction and I can feel it will be a strong end of the season for me!!

Below is a quick shot of me competing in the GS this week and then a little reminder of what I have dedicated my entire life to:))

  1. It was a solid job at the WordChamps...I miss a little the elegance it always looks a bit "Hölzern"...
